Candle Battery

Smaller caliber Candles can be used to great effect when fused together to form a 'Candle Battery'

The effect from a candle battery is similar to a cake, but much more intense. A 200 shot cake may last for 2 minutes while 35 x 6 shot candles fused into a battery will last as long as each individual candle. (Maybe 30 seconds) Candle batteries are particularly effective when fused into 'Fans'

To fuse a candle battery:

The candles in each individual battery are taped together.

The paper surrounding the original fuse is removed and black match inserted into the top of each tube to meet the ignition point.

The last 2 or 3 inches of the paper tube are removed from a length of Pipe match which is laid on top of the black match.

The whole thing is then secured with parcel tape and an igniter or a length of PIC inserted into the open end of the pipe match.

NOTE: Modifying fireworks in this manner is illegal in the UK unless you have a factory license or are a display company fusing fireworks on site.
